Riyadh – Mubasher: The capital of Saudi Arabia hosted DATE AI Show which was co-located with DATE FinTech Show for two days on 11 and 12 December 2023.
Riyadh gathered leading experts, innovators, investors, policy makers, and entrepreneurs from the artificial intelligence (AI) industry to showcase the role Saudi Arabia is playing in the AI-led digital transformation sector across the globe, according to a press release.
The DATE AI Show, which was held at the JW Marriott Burj Rafal Tower, acted as a platform to shape the Gulf country’s journey in digital transformation, along with collective efforts of the participating innovators, regulators, investors, media, and influencers in order to pave the way for the Kingdom's tech-driven future. This further underscored the futuristic innovations of Saudi Arabia while nurturing an innovative ecosystem.
According to a PwC report, Saudi Arabia's AI landscape is likely to become a major contributor to the national gross domestic product (GDP) by 2030, with an estimated growth rate of 12.40% to $135.20 billion. This is attributed to the Kingdom’s heavy investments in its technology sector in line with the objectives of the Saudi Vision 2030 agenda, with a main focus on emerging technologies like AI.
For building a solid AI space in the country, the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) is spearheading with a portfolio of strategic initiatives like Artificial Intelligence Hour, DEEM, Estishraf, Tawakklanan, Nafatha, SDAIA Academy, and more.
Group CEO of the event manager Trescon Global, Naveen Bharadwaj, said: “In today’s tech-driven landscape, AI integration is not just an option but a survival necessity. With the MENA region’s well-defined digital landscape sets the stage for Saudi Arabia’s digital leadership.”
